What is United Pet Care?

 United Pet Care (UPC) is a pet healthcare membership program. Membership in our program saves you 20-50% on every visit to the veterinarian.



Who is United Pet Care?

United Pet Care (UPC) was founded in Arizona in 1996, and has since expanded to include Colorado, Nevada, California, and parts of Texas.  With the rising costs of veterinary care, and the challenges of today's economic conditions, United Pet Care is dedicated to helping pets receive top-quality, affordable veterinary care.  


Everyone wants to be able to take care of their pets, and United Pet Care's excellent network of veterinary providers makes that possible. 


The company was founded on the premise that healthcare programs for pets are fast becoming a necessity in today's economic environment. 

What are the benefits of becoming a United Pet Care member?

There are several benefits associated with becoming a United Pet Care member.


First of all, the cost of office visits are dramatically reduced.  On our Select  Program, members pay only $35.00 and all procedures and medication dispensed by the veterinarian are at a 20% savings.


On our Choice Program (available in Arizona) annual exams and and vaccines are no charge on all adult dogs and cats.  All procedures and medications dispensed by the veterinarian are at a 20% savings.



On our Preferred Program (available in California)  office visits are 50% off, as opposed to the normal $38.00 to $68.00 office visit charge.  Procedures and medication dispensed by the veterinarian are at a 25% savings.  


Unlike pet insurance, United Pet Care's program has:

NO deductibles

NO exclusions due to pre-existing conditions, age, or

      hereditary/congenital conditions

NO waiting period

NO limit to the number of veterinary visits

What are the advantages of United Pet Care?

 UPC is not an insurance plan and is not regulated by the Department of Insurance.  With United Pet Care, there are:  No deductibles...No annual dollar maximum limitation...No pre-existing condition exclusions...No claim forms...No paperwork...and No age limitations.  You do not have to wait and wonder if your insurance claim will be covered.  Your savings are applied  immediately when you receive your invoice at the veterinarian’s office.

Who are the veterinarians on United Pet Care?

The veterinarians participating in United Pet Care are all private practitioners who meet professional qualification standards of veterinary medicine.  Our primary goal is to assure our members of the highest possible quality of care.  If your veterinarian is not listed, call our office to find out how your veterinarian may join our provider network.

How do I become a member?

You can sign up on-line by going to Membership Options, or you may call us at (602)266-5303 in Arizona, (949)916-7374 in California, or toll free at (877) 872-8800.  If you sign up on line, be sure to complete the membership form listing each of your pets, and select the UPC participating  veterinary facility that you wish to go to.

When does my membership go into effect?

Please refer to your enrollment packet (welcome letter) for your effective date.  Typically, memberships received by the 25th of each month become effective the first of the following month.  (For example:  Sign up date:  August 23  Effective Date: September 1) 


May I change to another veterinary office after I have made my initial selection of veterinarian?

Yes, you may change veterinary offices by writing or calling the United Pet Care Member Services Department.  Veterinary transfers will be effective the first of the following month.

What if my pet needs a veterinarian with special areas of care?

Should your pet require special care, you may select from the list of Participating Veterinarians with Special Areas of Care.  Special care is limited to areas where there is a participating veterinarian.
